The project begins with a reading of In Praise of Shadows by Junichiro Tanizaki and the typology of the Japanese tea pavilion as its conceptual and spatial framework. From these references, a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Japanese architecture is proposed, conceived as an exhibition space for material and sensory experimentation. The proposal takes the form of a large tatami that organizes the circulation, constructed from four materials: solid bamboo, wool, glass, and amber light. The project is conceived with a conscious use of resources, avoiding waste and allowing its elements to be reused.
